Director

Doron Levy is a Professor of Mathematics and the Math Department Chair at the University of Maryland, College Park. He is the founding Director of the Brin Mathematics Research Center.

Doron Levy a member of the Maryland BioPhysics Graduate Program and the Applied Mathematics, Statistics, and Scientific Computation (AMSC) Graduate Program. He serves as the co-director of the NCI-UMD Partnership for Integrative Cancer Research.

Doron Levy is an applied mathematician. His research focuses on biomedical applications of mathematics. He is particularly interested in cancer dynamics, drug resistance, immunology, imaging, and cell motility. Much of my research is conducted in collaboration with clinicians, experimentalists, and researchers from medical schools, medical research centers, and biology departments.

In 2013 he was named a Distinguished Scholar-Teacher by the University of Maryland. In 2014 he was named a Fellow of the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation. Between 2015-2020 Levy was a Pauli Fellow of the Wolfgang Pauli Institute in Vienna. Previously he served as the Director of the Center for Scientific Computation and Mathematical Modeling (CSCAMM). Before moving to Maryland Levy held positions at Stanford University, UC Berkeley, Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, the University of Paris 6, and the Ecole Normale Superieure (ENS), Paris.
